WARNING: There is an exploit right now where players can lose their items due to a trading post being destroyed in the middle of a trade. PLEASE ONLY USE THE INDESTRUCTIBLE TRADING POST IN HUB UNTIL THIS IS FIXED.
The Trading Post is the only safe place to make trades with other players. Players can interact with the Trading Post to open the UI and then select the player they wish to trade with. Please make sure to mouseover and verify that the item you're trading for is the correct item, and the correct quantity.
Trading Posts can be found at an Outpost of Light, which are located in Adventure Worlds. They can also be found at the Hub. Another way to obtain a Trading Post is via crafting, using a Builder's Crafting Bench and 5 Golden Souls, 150 Infinium, and 300 Shapestone.
Once both players are ready, they must click "accept." After doing so, the UI will be closed and any items will be exchanged.
NEVER trade by dropping your items and letting the other player pick them up, this is not a secure method and allows for other players to scam you. If they won't agree to trade at a trading post, do not agree to trade with that player. Notice: as the garbage can was introduced in the Backpack, you can no longer drop your items from your inventory.
Report scammers through the Trion support site, but please refrain from public (such as forum) name-calling and shaming.
